Peptides, NAD+ & Longevity Therapies
Around the core metabolic work, there's a menu of supportive therapies my patients ask about all the time, and peptides top the list: peptides, NAD+, Lipo-C, and targeted supplements. Here's the honest clinician's version of each: what it can and can't do, what you can get anywhere, and what belongs in a real clinical plan.
Supplements ship nationwide. Prescription injectables and peptides are for patients in AZ, CO, FL, ID, KY, MT, OR, WA, WY · discussed and priced before we start
These are supportive therapies, not the main event. The real work is protecting your muscle and metabolism, whether you're on a GLP-1, coming off one, or doing this without one. What's on this page can help that work along, and my job is to tell you honestly which pieces are worth it for you and which are hype.
Some of this you can buy and use anywhere in the country. Some of it is prescription care I provide in the states where I'm licensed, after a real evaluation. I'll be clear about which is which, and about what the evidence does and doesn't show. It's layered onto the metabolic program, never a replacement for the fundamentals.
The menu
Everything here is optional and layered onto the fundamentals of sleep, nutrition, movement, and stress, never a replacement for them.
Practitioner-grade supplements that ship nationwide, no prescription needed: GLP-1 pathway support, hydrolyzed collagen peptides for skin and hair, essential amino acids and creatine to protect muscle, and NAD+ precursors for cellular energy. This is the layer anyone can use, wherever you live.
AvailabilityNationwide, through my dispensary
For patients in my licensed states, prescribed for you to give yourself at home as a simple shot, never an IV drip you have to sit in a clinic for. Options include NAD+ for cellular energy, Lipo-C with B12 for energy and metabolic support (energy support, not a fat-burning shot), glutathione and NAC for antioxidant support, CoQ-10 for mitochondrial and heart health, a B-complex for energy, and vitamin C. Sourced through the pharmacy pathway appropriate to the treatment, and you're taught to use them safely before you start.

Peptides are having a moment, and most of what you read is oversold or vague about sourcing. Peptide recommendations are individualized based on your health history, goals, available evidence, safety considerations, and the options appropriate at the time of care. If you already use peptides obtained elsewhere, we can still discuss how they fit into your broader health picture without Root & Remedy taking over management of a product I did not prescribe.
Availability9 states, case by case
Benefits vary from person to person, may be gradual, and are not guaranteed. Supplement statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Each of these is one tool within a larger plan, never the whole plan.
GLP-1 support
GLP-1s are a class of peptides, and Root & Remedy Integrative Care provides the metabolic care around them. You can keep your own prescriber, or have Sheri Erwin, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, prescribe and manage an FDA-approved branded GLP-1 as part of your care when it is clinically appropriate. The focus here is your metabolic health along the way: protein and muscle support, help with side effects, and the labs that track how you are doing, whether you are staying on a GLP-1, working toward coming off one, or working without one.
Sourcing & safety
Peptide and emerging-therapy decisions are individualized. Recommendations take into account your health history, goals, available evidence, safety considerations, and the options appropriate at the time of care. When compounded therapy is considered, we also discuss how it differs from an FDA-approved medication and what that means for your care.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA has not reviewed them for safety, effectiveness, or quality the way it reviews approved drugs, and some therapies may be used off-label. Understanding that status is part of deciding whether a therapy fits your situation.
Some peptides are given by subcutaneous injection. If that's part of your plan, you'll be taught proper handling, storage, and self-administration before you start, so you feel confident, not just handed a prescription.
How it works
We start with your full health history, current medications and supplements, and what you're actually hoping to change, not a product picked off a menu.
If peptide therapy fits, we review the specific option, the sourcing, the cost, and the risks together, before anything is ordered. You're free to say no at any point.
If we move forward, you're taught proper use and handling, and we recheck how it's going over time rather than a one-and-done prescription.
Healthspan Peptide Therapy is available only to patients physically located in a state where I'm licensed at the time of care: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.
Common questions
Want the peptide background first? Read is peptide therapy safe for women over 40, and what to know before you start.
Yes, for patients in my licensed states, after a visit. NAD+ supports cellular energy and fits a longevity plan, and the oral NR precursor is available nationwide as a supplement. Lipo-C with B12 is an energy and metabolic support injection, and I'll be honest that it's exactly that, not a fat-burning shot. You give these to yourself at home as a simple shot, taught step by step. I don't do IV drips, only what you can safely do yourself.
I can help monitor your safety, even for products I didn't prescribe, with labs such as IGF-1, fasting insulin, and metabolic markers, and by watching for problems. Sourcing and dosing of anything you obtained on your own stay outside my care, and that is noted in your chart.
It can be, for the right person and the right goal. Peptide therapy is considered after we understand your full history and what you're hoping to change, and it's most useful alongside, not instead of, the lifestyle fundamentals: sleep, nutrition, movement, and stress. If it isn't the right fit for you, I'll tell you honestly and point you toward what is.
Some peptide-based medications are FDA-approved. Others may be available only through compounding pharmacies and are not FDA-approved in the same way. The role of any therapy depends on the specific product, evidence, safety considerations, and the individual patient.
Possible risks include injection-site reactions such as redness, tenderness, or bruising; allergic or hypersensitivity reactions, which are rare but can be serious; and headache, fatigue, nausea, or changes in appetite, sleep, or mood. Because human data on some peptides is still limited, long-term effects aren't fully known, which is why ongoing monitoring matters.
Yes. Peptide therapy is considered only after a full history and, when appropriate, labs, so we understand your starting point and can track whether it's actually helping.
The difference at Root & Remedy is the evaluation and follow-through. Peptides and other emerging therapies are considered in the context of your health history, goals, laboratory findings, and the available evidence. They are options, not automatic recommendations, and treatment is reassessed over time.
