Root & Remedy Integrative Care connects what is changing now with the health you are building for the years ahead.

Care begins with the concern that matters most to you and builds outward, bringing metabolism, muscle, bone, hormones, thyroid, gut health, sleep, stress, prevention, and future risk into one connected healthspan plan.

In her words

Good care should help you understand what is changing.

Good care is not about choosing between medication and lifestyle. Sometimes medication is appropriate and can be life-changing. But a prescription is only one part of understanding what is happening in your body.

Too many women are told that their labs are normal while they continue struggling with changes in energy, weight, strength, sleep, concentration, or how they feel in their own bodies.

I believe healthcare should help you connect those changes, recognize the patterns that deserve attention, and build a plan that supports how you want to feel, function, and age.

Metabolic health is often where we begin because it touches so much of healthspan, including energy, strength, body composition, cardiovascular health, and how the body functions with age. From there, we look outward to the other systems and risks shaping your health.

That plan may include medication, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress support, hormone care, targeted testing, prevention planning, or a thoughtful combination tailored to you. The goal is not to chase a younger version of yourself. It is to help you stay strong, capable, independent, and engaged in the life you are building.

I've lived what I mean

I know what it feels like when your body changes.

I did not come to this work only as a clinician. I came to it as a woman living it.

During perimenopause, I watched my weight shift, my hair thin and turn gray, wrinkles arrive, and my energy feel different. At times, it seemed as though my body was aging faster than the candles on my birthday cake or the age printed on my driver's license.

I also know how disorienting it can feel when those changes are dismissed as normal aging, even though you no longer feel like yourself.

That experience changed how I think about healthspan. I do not believe the answer is to chase an old version of yourself or fear every sign of aging. I believe women deserve to understand what is changing, protect what matters, and build the strongest version of the years ahead.

My approach

Evidence-informed, integrative, and genuinely personal.

I practice conventional medicine through an integrative lens, using the best of evidence-based clinical care, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress support, prevention planning, and carefully selected testing.

That means looking beyond a single symptom or isolated laboratory result. Rather than assuming every concern has one hidden cause, we consider the contributing drivers and patterns that may be affecting how you feel and function.

We bring together your health history, symptoms, medications, laboratory patterns, daily life, and future priorities so we can make more informed decisions about what deserves attention now and what should be monitored over time.

Disease prevention and earlier recognition of risk are central to healthspan care. Prevention does not mean that every condition can be avoided. It means identifying modifiable risks, recognizing early changes, improving what can be changed, monitoring what matters, and building a plan around the health you want to protect.

Sometimes an estimated biological age can help make selected laboratory patterns easier to visualize. It gives us a reference point that can be measured and tracked. It is not a diagnosis, a grade, or a prediction of how long you will live.

Whether you are concerned about changes in your metabolism, taking a GLP-1 prescribed elsewhere, navigating hormones or thyroid health, or thinking more seriously about future risk, we begin by understanding your whole story.

Teaching the next generation

I've spent more than 16 years educating nurse practitioners.

For more than 16 years, I have taught nurse practitioners how to think clinically, connect physiology, evaluate evidence, and care for patients beyond a single diagnosis.

That experience has also shaped how I care for patients. I know how to make complicated information understandable, show you how the pieces connect, and help you take a more informed role in your health.

Healthspan on Her Terms

Clearer answers for the changes women feel but cannot always explain.

Healthspan on Her Terms is where Dr. Sheri Erwin, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, a doctorate-prepared, board-certified family nurse practitioner, cuts through the noise, conflicting advice, and the things that used to work but do not anymore.

It is where we talk about the real changes women experience but do not always have clear answers for: energy that feels off, weight that will not shift, inconsistent sleep, and laboratory results that come back normal even though you do not feel normal.

Through conversations about hormones, metabolism, muscle, prevention, and longevity, you can begin to understand what may be happening in your body and how to move forward in a way that makes sense.

Your health is not simply about doing more or trying harder. It begins with understanding your body and learning how to work with it rather than against it.

Outside the clinic

Living the life healthspan is meant to protect.

When I'm not with patients, you'll find me hiking and mountain biking, traveling and tasting foods from cultures around the world, and enjoying life with my husband. I'm also walking alongside my aging mother, helping her live her fullest, best life.

I'm a senior-dog lover and rescuer. My last one had a salt-and-pepper face and dementia near the end, and I gave him the best healthspan I could, because quality of life, for every one of us, is the whole point.

I believe in living the values behind my work: staying active, connected, curious, and genuinely engaged in life for as many years as possible. That is the whole point of healthspan, and it is the life I want for you, too.
